There are 13 sports halls and ten stadiums in the region: three town and seven rural ones to hold sports and recreation events.

The town stadium has a racetrack, a jumping pit, a shot throwing sector and stands for spectators.

All schools have sports and playing grounds. Sports clubs function as well. Such sports as volleyball, basketball, ping-pong and football are most popular with school children. Schoolboys and girls participate in a round-the-clock sports and athletics meeting.

The town gymnasium has a well-equipped workout room.

There are four offices of the specialized children’s Olympic reserve school in the regional center: judo, football, weightlifting and track and field athletics departments. This year 440 children attend them. The school is famous for its sports achievements. In October 2005 its team took the first command place in Gomel at the weightlifting competitions.

The town vocational school also has a gym and a stadium.
