Education

There are 14 secondary schools, 8 preschool establishments, center of arts for children and youth, Olympic reserve sport school for 540 places. Every school is fitted with a canteen which provides free meals (at the expense of the financial resources allocated to minimize the Chernobyl consequences).

Several educational establishments have been inaugurated in the region during the recent three years. They include a rehabilitation and developing education center (in 2003), a children’s social orphanage in the village of Borisovschina (in 2004), education establishment “State gymnasium in the town of Khoiniki (in 2005), two health recuperation groups in kindergarten #5 in Khoiniki (in 2004).

There are 108 hobby groups and sections in drama art, ecology, sport, ethnography, fine arts.

The vocational college in Khoiniki trains agricultural specialists, gas welders, drivers, construction specialists, salespersons, cooks.
