�GOMEL (BelTA) – Shares owned by Gomel Oblast authorities in over 30 public joint-stock companies (OAO) are available for sale via auctions or tenders this year, representatives of the State Property Committee of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee told BelTA.
Shares of 15 public joint-stock companies are available for sale via auctions. The packages vary from 10.5% to 90.8% of the charter capital. The choice includes agribusiness companies, transport companies, trade and hotel service companies. Shares of four companies are supposed to be sold via OAO Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange (BCSE).
Shares of 18 public joint-stock companies are available via tenders with conditions. Those are mainly agribusiness companies and several trade and food industry companies.
The regional authorities intend to sell the shares in order to raise investments to finance modernization, retooling or scale up the operation of the companies.
